Cook County – 2013 thru 2015
6500 Core Implementation – As part of the Catalyst 6509 Core migration SSI is currently replacing the existing core equipment at each major location as to provide a foundation to upgrade and dual-connect all wiring closet switches to the new 6500 core.
ONS to OC3 Core Migration – SSI migrated primary OC3 connections from unsupported Cisco ONS equipment to newly installed 6500 core equipment.
Tested and verified proper fail-over from primary OC3 to back-up T3
Wireless – SSI Architected a wireless solution as a first step to a county wide offering.
Installed new centralized wireless controllers.
Deployed and tested wireless A/P’s:
Burn in and staging of new hardware for selected sites.
Installation of new licenses.
Integration of Cisco wireless controller management tool
Creation of a wireless management solution control process.
DMZ Migration – Provided a detailed design and migration strategy to accomplish the migration to a more robust DMZ
Created multiple DMZ zones, providing one for each critical business application environment.
Migrated each application environment to its own segment using new Cook County owned IP addresses.
Changed the internal and external routing related to Internet access to allow a more flexible and redundant environment
County of McHenry
2015 – Provided Services and Install of Personal Computers, Monitors, Notebooks and Tablets for County Wide Rollout
Inventory, Delivery and Install
Understanding that the County did not have sufficient space to inventory either the current equipment, or the new equipment SSI provided
the deliver the new equipment just in time for placement, as well as storing of the current equipment offsite pending recycling and disposal.
The new equipment was processed through the factory in one production run to minimize parts discrepancies.
This equipment was stored offsite and delivered in quantities of 50 to 100 units, two to three times per week over the course of sixteen weeks.
SSI provided more than adequate personnel on hand the next day to move equipment from staging area to rollout area.
SSI was also responsible for hard drive wipe of existing equipment, unbox new equipment, tear down old
equipment and box, label boxes, and transport from County building to inventory site.
Metro Bank Group - 2014 – Network Infrastructure Upgrade
A large banking group located in the Greater Chicago Metro area needed to upgrade its legacy network and voice infrastructure with new routers, switches that would provide a faster, more reliable and fully supported network environment for their user base.
In Phase I -SSI provided the Plan, design, knowledge transfer and support procedures for migrating North Community Bank’s 92 branches and their core switch network infrastructure at their central location.
As part of Phase II – SSI provided Storage/Delivery services for all devices to support gradual deployment.
Logistics and Inventory Management support for ongoing deployments.
Configuration Template Management for access devices.
Staging, pre-configuration and proof of concept implementation for streamlined migration.
Turn-key swap-out and implementation of 92 branch locations access layer switches and routers with a team of field engineers for a quick nd streamlines migration.
Project Management for the entire lifecycle of the project
Finally in Phase III – SSI Replaced and upgraded their current Core network devices with new Cisco 4500 and 5500 series switches
